Social Studies Scribe Post 12/13/06

In social studies today we read ,in our text books , about Turkey. Then we started our homework.The homework was questions about Turkey. Thye worksheet talked about Turkey’s culture, climate, and geography. I think Turkey will fun to study about !Here are some facts:

-the major religion is Islam

-it’s largest city is Istanbul

-Kurds (an ethnic group) make up 20% of Turkey’s population

-the capitol city is Ankara

-the Turkish Straits are made of the Bosporus,Sea of Marmara,and Dardanelles

    That sounds very cool to be learning about. Our classroom is also learning about something very interesting. We have been reading about Greece.
